Patent portfolio strength analysis
-
Internal intellectual property intake structuring for forward thinking best-in-class portfolios
-
Drafted and prosecuted patents to protect innovations in the US and internationally, on budget, including a 300+ patent portfolio as sole in-house counsel of $250M funded startup Beamreach/Solexel with subsequent acquisitions by Tesla
-
Drafted and prosecuted trademark applications to protect brands before the USPTO, including trademark cancellation proceedings for the University of Texas

In addition to my law firm, I serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Create Appalachia, I teach intellectual property law as faculty at East Tennessee State University, and I am an advisor to various Silicon Valley and Johnson City startups.
